Cooking Class: Cooking With Spices

Posted by kathryn in Clinic News and Nutrition

Using spices in your cooking is a wonderful way to add flavour and deliciousness to meals. And yet many people are hesitant about adding spices, lacking confidence in how to use. Barely used packets of spices can sit in the pantry for years and years, gradually losing their freshness and spark.

In the middle of Term 2 our Nutritionist, Kathryn Elliott will be running a seminar on Cooking With Spices. She’ll be looking at simple ways to use spices in your meals, as well as how to store them and get the most from your spices. She’ll also suggest a small range of spices you can keep in your pantry, and then use regularly to add instant flavour to your food.

During the seminar Kathryn will demonstrate three different spiced up meals, which you could make at home.

Seminar Details:

  • Date: Saturday 4 June
  • Time: 3.30pm – 5.00pm
  • Seminar includes: a cooking demonstration, notes and recipes, tastings of the food and recipes discussed, and a glass of wine on arrival.
  • Cost: $25
  • Location: Balance2health in Gladesville.
  • Book early as numbers are strictly limited.

This practical and fun session is aimed at making it easier for you to cook healthy and delicious meals. For more information, or to make a booking contact Kathryn.
