NEXT Cooking Class: One Pot Cooking

Sometimes cooking seems to involve so much washing up. For some recipes you need saucepans, bowls, implements, food processors, spoons, plates, cutlery, and even more saucepans. Which is all too much for a Tuesday night, when you’ve had a long day and you just want a healthy dinner.

However, it’s possible to make a delicious, interesting, easy and healthy meal using just one pan. In this cooking class Kathryn will look at ways to minimise the washing up and mess, and make one pot dinners. She’ll also demonstrate three different, balanced one pot meals, which you could make at home.

HOW TO BOOK

  • To book yourself in email Alexia at alexiaam@optusnet.com.au
  • This system is not to be used to switch from the class for which you have made a term booking, to another class on the timetable. Instead vacancies are for the convenience of members who have missed their usual class.
    Make-up classes cannot be carried over to a new Term, or to Holiday Classes.
  • Although make-up classes are often possible during the term, they can only be offered if current class members let us know in advance when they’re unable to attend their usual class – this does not always happen.

We are excited to extend our current Personal Training service to both members and non members. The Balance2health team – Adrienn, Britt and Fiona are available for Private Pilates for 1 or 2 people.

Next Cooking Class - Easy & Tasty Vegetarian Cooking

Having a couple of meat-free meals each week is a good strategy for your health. Cutting back on meat can reduce your saturated fat intake and improve the variety of foods you eat. The trick to introducing more meat free meals is knowing what to cook, how to make a balanced meal and how to ensure it tastes delicious.

This seminar is for meat eaters who would like to introduce more vegetarian food to their weekly menu and vegetarians who are bored with their current cooking repertoire. Kathryn will demonstrate three easy and delicious vegetarian meals, which you can make at home.

Regularly throughout the year our Nutritionist, Kathryn Elliott, runs Healthy Cooking Classes. These sessions focus on easy ways to cook good food that tastes delicious and how to choose the best food for you and your family. They are practical and informative and focus on every day eating and shopping.

Classes are held on Saturday afternoons from 3.00 – 4.30pm at Balance2health and they cost $25. More details will be posted about each class closer to the date.

Yoga at Balance2health

Have you tried our wonderful Yoga with Johanna Brown? Our Yoga classes can be attended on a casual basis or as a make-up class. It’s a great opportunity to both increase your flexibility and de-stress from the week. You can also bring a friend, as non-members are welcome.

Johanna teaches a blend of Hatha and Vinyassa Yoga and is very mindful of assisting her clients to work at their own level, in order to enjoy the wonderful benefits of their Yoga practice. Suitable for beginners.
